Sightsee Mural
Team SightseeWhen we were thinking about ways to bring more visual interest to the shop, one idea that always came up was a mural in the alcove leading out to the patio. And when we were thinking about artists to bring that mural to life, Taylor Faulkner and Cara Fischer were at the top of our minds. Instead of choosing one or the other, we thought…”why not both?” We were thrilled when they seemed just as excited about this idea as we were.
In reflecting on the creative process behind this mural, Cara told us,
“This project was so super — the best thing an artist can hear is ‘Do whatever you want, we love your style.’ We got to go in there and let our imaginations go wild! It was pure joy for me to bounce off each other’s ideas and create this immersive space.”
That joy is evident in every vignette of this mural: surfers balancing cold brew on their heads, rabbits hopping over stacks of CLIT mags, beachgoers leaving the ocean on the back of our mascot, Coco the burro.
